The video also goes along with one done in class involving counters. Since young children may not yet fully grasp conservation they may think that changes within the objects like we did in class would change. As noted in my class notes this is normal for children. Each is at his or her own developmental pace. As teachers we must be watchful for possible problems but, also realize that as children grow they will be able to take on certain tasks that they do not yet understand.
Since Piaget's theory of conservation was discussed on our text and also in class I wanted to add this insightful video.
